Following Sunday School at 12:15 p.m. the Trustees are sponsoring a Pot-Luck dinner to kick off the Stewardship Drive! Beverages and desserts will be furnished by the Trustees, and the congregation is asked to bring a dish to pass and your own place settings. We look forward to seeing you there! Chapel Dedication

During worship on Sunday, November 4, we will dedicate our newly

furnished chapel.  New chairs have been bought and Rita Castillo

created a wonderful stained glass piece to hang in the window.

Take the opportunity to visit the chapel and experience the

loving additions. Use the chapel as a place of quiet and

peaceful meditation.

Annual Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive

The Diaconate is making plans for Thanksgiving Baskets. These baskets go to those who otherwise do not have the means to provide a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner for their families. Last year we served the needs of 50 families! This year, you can leave the shopping to us, as we will collect monetary donations in place of the usual food. Then, join us on Sunday, November 18, as we gather immediately following the worship service to pack the baskets.

Thanksgiving Service

The Penn Yan Area Council of Churches invites you

to celebrate as a community of faith at the annual

Community Service of Thanksgiving on Sunday,

November 18, at 7:00 p.m., at the First Presbyterian

Church of Penn Yan. Plans are underway for an

ecumenical choir and a special offering will be received

for “Food for the Needy.” The Rev. Barbara Gifford, pastor of the Branchport and Italy Valley United Methodist Churches will bring the Thanksgiving message. Please join with others from our faith community, as we give thanks for all of God’s blessings in our lives.

This is part of a letter we recently received from Neighborhood Ministries in Campbell, Ohio.

“During recent office changes we discovered that several people had not been thanked for their partnership with us through the White Cross program, including your group. I apologize for the delay in sending out a proper thank you. We depend on White Cross supplies to address so many needs in the communities we serve and value your partnership.”

The sweatshirts and sweatpants we sent last year will be used as part of Christmas baskets or in emergencies.

Please remember that the items in this year’s request must be brought in by November 15th.

                                                                     Thank You!

Finger Lakes Baptist Association

The annual meeting of the FLBA will be held Nov. 11, at Wayne Village Baptist Church. Registration begins at 3 p.m., with a dish to pass supper at 5 p.m. Opening devotions will be led by Pastor Judy Peppard, of WVBC. You’ll be excited by the program, in which speakers will share their summer experiences at Green Lake.

Come hear all about it!

Bible Collection

A plea is being made for the collection of Bibles which might be lying about your house and which you would be willing to donate to a mission effort. Falconer Baptist Church (near Jamestown) is collecting them and will send them to a missions post to be distributed. An offer has been made to transport the Bibles from Geneva to Falconer; any Bibles that we can collect from FBC need only to be delivered to First Baptist Church of Geneva. There are already 139 Bibles collected! The deadline for donations is Sunday, Nov. 11. Delivery will be made on Tuesday, Nov. 13. This is a way you can help A LITTLE BIT, but it will mean A WHOLE LOT in the mission field. Questions can be directed to Nancy Lamberson at 789-3220 or genevafbc@rochester.rr.com
