Milly’s Backpack Program:
Mission ~ in New York State ~ Malone ~ The Barnabas House Homeless Shelter is a non-profit organization that provides help and hope to individuals in their time of need. They believe that every human being has a right to the basic needs, such as shelter, food, clothing and services our community has to offer. Established 10 years ago, approximately 1000 individuals have been helped thanks to the generosity of our community members. Many individuals have volunteered their time through the years working directly with the residents to support them through their transition. In June of 205, Community Connections of Franklin County, a non-profit organization took over management control of the Barnabas House, thus adding services to the ones that were already being provided at the shelter and increasing an individual’s chance to move into a sustainable living situation. Working collaboratively with social services and utilizing all support programs in Franklin County, the homeless can be transitioned into a stable wellness situation.
