Mission Accomplished!

We did it! Thanks to the help of so many hands and hearts we were able to make our first crochet/knit “quilt.” We are donating the quilt to the Keuka Comfort Care Home, where it will be used to bring warmth and comfort to those needing an extra “hug.” Our appreciation goes out to each and every one of you who helped to make this happen. As Mother Teresa said, “We can do no great things - only small things with great love.”                          Sheryl Robbins and Pam Scutt

Project # 2 (Your next mission, should you chose to accept it)

There has been an interest in making a 2nd crochet/knit project. Several different ideas have been suggested which include a prayer shawl, lap throw or another quilt. The “prayer shawl” would be shared within our own congregation and passed from family to family as needed. We may donate the throw/quilt to the American Red Cross. Soooooo, if you still have leftover yarn and an “itch to stitch” keep those 6 inch squares coming. Remember, they can be either crocheted or knitted and can be any pattern you choose as long as they measure as close to a 6 inch block as possible. We will be collecting them through April 27. Thanks again!! Sheryl and Pam

Faster Pastor Race

Our church has been invited to participate in the first ever, Faster Pastor race at Black Rock Speedway in conjunction with their 20th year celebration. Area churches are being asked to assist with pre-sale ticket sales and each church will retain 50% of the proceeds from their sales to be used in their own ministry. Black Rock Speedway will provide up to 2 front wheel drive, automatic transmission, 4 cylinder stock cars for the race. The race, or races, depending on participation will consist of 10 laps being held midway through the evening’s events. All participants in each Faster Pastor race will be from area churches. Because our own Faster Pastor will be away to visit his mother in Illinois, Johnny Tharp and Stan Ovens will take his place. This is an event for the whole family and will benefit our church at the same time. See Pastor John and plan to purchase a ticket!
