Church News, Meetings, and Announcements
During the months of January and February we will hold our worship services in the Great Room. Service times will still be at 10 am. We do this so that we can conserve heating the sanctuary.
The Advisory Council will meet on Thursday, January 7, at 7 pm to set the proposed budget for 2010. All boards and committees should have a representative present.
The Annual Meeting and Potluck Luncheon will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2010. Lunch will be at noon with the meeting immediately following at 12:45 pm. Bring a dish to share and your own table service.
Remember to turn in your pledge cards. They help us when we prepare our budget for the coming year. As always, if you can’t locate it, please note your name and pledge (intentions) on a piece of paper and mail it into the church office.
CHURCH DIRECTORY 2010
On January 13 and 14, Olan Mills will be here to photograph for the directory. Sign up sheets are in the church office during the week or sign up at the table located in the foyer. As part of our church family we will surely miss you if you are not in our directory. We hope to see you there!!
Mary & Martha Circle –
On Tuesday, January 12, 2010, the Circle will meet at 10:30 am in the church library. They will be assembling bandages to send out to the Congo.
A new sign up for volunteers for the nursery will start in February. It would be great to have a variety of people who can share the Sundays, so that everyone has an opportunity to attend worship services. Contact Ethel Clancy at 536-6265.
Congratulations to Greg & Nancy Marion on the birth of their first grandchild. Riley Autumn Marion was born on December 22, 2009. At birth she weighed 6 lbs 3 oz.
Board of Christian Education Report
Board members met on December 10, to discuss:
The upcoming Christmas pageant on Dec. 20.
The need for new board members, as individuals will be completing their term. Continuous participation from those leaving the board is encouraged even though they will no longer be an acting member or chairs on this board.
The current curriculum program will change from Group to a program called One Room School House. This will make it easier to keep our group of kids together in one large class rather than small separate classes. This in turn encourages interaction among the children of varying age groups as well as making it easier for the teacher to prepare the lesson for that week. Information about the program will be sent out to parents.
Nursery attendee scheduling is working well. Anyone who would like to help is encouraged to talk to a board member or Ethel Clancy.
Report of the Board of Trustees
Trustees met on December 8, 2009. Highlights of the meeting are as follows:
Approved use of the kitchen by the Boy Scouts to bake cookies for Keuka Comfort Care.
Approved use of the building by the Rotary Club with a request for a monthly fee.
Discussed projects for the coming year: Silicone treatments of the outside of the building, Fund Raiser for the Building Fund, Establishing a Safety/Security policy for the property and people.
Looked at “Pay a Bill” program.
Discussed progress of the Stewardship Campaign.
Bid farewell to outgoing board members.
The next Trustees meeting will be after the Annual Meeting on January 17, 2010.

I send my blessings this wonderful time of year. I miss you all but have found a wonderful church family here and we are doing good. The Holy Spirit is a good guide and I’m getting good direction. Our little church is just full of the Holy Spirit. We can’t testify enough how much our lord has done for us. Make yourself happy by making someone else happy.
