Mission Nugget

Charles and Ruth Fox – Missionaries in Thailand

Chuck writes: “The ‘Pigs for Pastors’ program was held during the month of November. Our thanks to American Baptists who have supported pigs for pastors. In this outreach, pastors are asked to raise the pig and then mate it and give one of the piglets away to a needy person in the village. They have received a blessing, so in turn they should try to bless others. This is not always a welcome message as the Akha like to raise the pig and kill it within 3 months. Another recent activity included loading a truck with pipe to help a village with clean water. This village runs out of water in the dry season. Every family contributed some money toward the project and all worked to lay the pipe through the jungle. Our thanks to American Baptist who contributed toward this water project.

A Prayer for Charles and Ruth Fox – Missionaries in Thailand

Gracious God, we thank you for the ministry of Charles and Ruth Fox in Thailand. We pray that their work in evangelism, pastoral care, education, leadership development and women’s ministries among the Akha hill-tribe people living in Northern Thailand may continue to be blessed. May they discover even more ways of sharing the Good News among their neighbors and may they find our prayers and support to be helpful to sustaining their important ministry. Amen.
