Our Church's Mission

Mission Nugget - Ministers and Missionaries Offering Month

Who is the Pastor’s Pastor?
“Like most church members, I have called my pastor when there was need, and he has never failed me. But who is his pastor? Who rushes to his side when the load is heavier than he can bear alone? The Savior on earth, turned aside to talk with the Father and spent long hours in prayer. But our Lord also needed John and Peter and James and the others. I have made a resolution which, by God’s help, I will not break. I am determined that my pastor shall know that I love him, that he shall not lack the sympathetic understanding which I can give. As a member of my church I shall, in some way, be a shepherd’s friend. I cannot but believe that there are many others like me who will day by day, stand at the side of the man who has no pastor”.

A Prayer for Our Pastor and His Wife
Dear Lord, please bless our Pastor, Steve this morning. And bless his wife, Karen. Help them as they rush around getting ready for church. Just as we do, Lord. Smooth their path. Help them. Help them with any worries they may have, any problems. They not only have their own, Lord; they often have the burden of ours. Comfort and guide them. Bless our Pastor as he speaks to us. Fill him with your Holy Spirit. And help us to listen, Lord, really listen. If we listen with our hearts, his words – Your words – can give us faith and strength for another week. Give our Pastor the joy of our encouragement, Lord. Let it shine from our eyes. Lord, help us to show how much we really appreciate this wonderful man and his wonderful wife. They both work so hard for us, Lord. They sacrifice so much time and energy and privacy. Lord, our Pastor and his wife pray constantly for us. Now we pray for them: Bless them, dear Father. Give them peace and health and happiness. This we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
