a Ceremony of Lessons and Carols. Let the much-loved words and songs of this season fill us body and soul, giving us hope and helping us respond to that great plea that permeates this season:
for peace on earth and good will to all. The service will close with the singing of Silent Night as we light our candles.
Flowers for the Sanctuary
Every Christmas season we are invited to bring in a poinsettia to adorn the sanctuary. For those who wish to do so in honor or in memory of a loved one, you are invited to fill out a form listing the names of those involved and they will be published in the Christmas Eve bulletin. Forms may be found on the table at the rear of the sanctuary and in the office.

As of Sunday, December 12, thirty-one pledges had been turned in.
Their total puts us only about 1/2 of the way towards the goal of our proposed local and mission budgets for 2011.
Please turn in your pledge sheets as soon as possible.
There are extra pledge sheets available on the table at the rear of the sanctuary.
You Are Invited –
Sunday, December 26 at 2 pm
To a wedding shower for Tom & Katie Tharp in the Great Room. A wish list is available on the foyer table.
In order to continue our once a month cleaning service, we need someone from our congregation who would be willing to pledge $15 per month for 2011. If this is something you're interested in doing, please contact either Sheryl Robbins or Diane DeLooza. Thank You.
Pledges. Did you get yours in yet?
Donation from the Historical Society
The book “Inheritance of Time-Guidelines for the Village of Penn Yan Historic Preservation District” has been donated to our church from the Historical Society. It can be found in the church library if anyone is interested in looking at it.
Is in need of devotional materials that can be distributed to the inmates at the county jail. If you have any leftover devotional booklets (such as Secret Place) and you would be willing to share them with the inmates, they may be left in the church office. This will be an ongoing ministry, so any contributions now or in the future will be greatly appreciated.
Red Cross Needs & Things
There is a need for: diapers; size 3,4,5,6, paper towels, laundry soap and dish soap. Look for the “Red Cross” box in the office

Welcome to First Baptist Church of Penn Yan. We are glad you joined us and hope you’ll feel at home, as we celebrate our faith and praise God together. In the pew in front of you, you will find a “get-to-know-you” card. Please take a moment to fill it out and place it in the offering plate.
We invite you to bring your children to the nursery during the service for a safe and Christian environment so that you may more fully experience Worship.
Following today’s service please come to enjoy coffee, refreshments and fellowship in the Great Room.
