The Church’s Mission


Mission Nugget

Charles and Ruth Fox – Missionaries in Thailand

Chuck and Ruth Fox work with the approximately 75,000 hill-tribe people living in Northern Thailand. Ruth worked for many years at the Family Learning Center of Chiang Rai which today has become the Chiang Rai International Christian School. While still helping with teacher recruitment and development for the school, Ruth has resigned as principal and is focusing her time and energies to ministering with Akha women through the Akha Craft program and women’s ministries. She also assists with the Christian education project and helps children receive an education through STEP (Student Tuition Expense Program ) funds.


Mission Receipts

Mission income on December 1st was $762.25 for the Treasury and $65 (toward a goal of $800) for the RMM Offering. Thank you.

Community News and Events


Community Chorus Concert   Today, Sunday, December 8

“Christmas Through the Ages”

On Sunday, December 8th at 3 pm, the Penn Yan Community Chorus will present their annual Christmas concert in our sanctuary. Featured will be music from Medieval, Baroque and contemporary times by composers such as Bach, Handel, da Vidana, Morley, Rutter, and Z. Randal Stroope.  The audience will sing traditional Christmas Carols with the chorus throughout the concert. Refreshments will be served in the Great Room following the concert.


Live Nativity  Sunday, December 15th

Bluff Point UMC Sunday, December 15th from 5-6 pm. See the Nativity come alive (yes, real animals). Sing along with the choir, spend time in prayer, envision yourself there at the birth of our Savior. Held at the church yard at Kinney’s Corner Road.


Cookie Walk  Saturday, December 21st

Saturday, December 21st, at First Presbyterian Church. Gorgeous Christmas Cookies sold by the pound. Opens at 10 am.
