News
Sunday, Dec. 21 @ 3:30 pm
Tired of all the
“Christmas commercialism” and longing for some of the traditional spirit of
Christmas? Then come join us on Dec. 21, for an afternoon of caroling from 3:30
pm – 6 pm. We’ll meet at the church and be back in time for a cup of hot cocoa.
All ages and voices are welcome! Bring a friend along too, the more the
merrier!
If you have questions
feel free to contact Beth DeLooza.
Christmas Flowers
Once again
this year we encourage our congregation to adorn the sanctuary with the
beautiful Christmas Poinsettia.
Please use
the form on Sunday’s bulletin (drop it in the offering plate) to note your
intentions. Or, you may call the office at 536-9821 by Thurs. Dec. 18.
All plants
should be in place by Sunday, December 21.
You may
take your plant home with you following the 7 p.m. Christmas Eve Candlelight
Service.
Thank You
The Diaconate would
like to thank everyone who contributed to the Thanksgiving offering, donated
food items, and/or participated in packing the boxes. With your help we were
able to provide over 40 families with a Thanksgiving dinner. Thank you for your
generosity and help in making this “mission” accomplished!
Soon the Christmas
cards will be stuffing your mailbox. Please take the time to trim off the
cancelled stamps and bring them to church. Find a member of the Missions team
or deposit the stamps in the office in the dish provided. What a great way to
help out!
Your Gift to the RMMO
A Vehicle of God’s Grace
In
expressing his gratitude to American Baptist congregations for the RMMO Thank
You check, Don Loomer, Santa Paula, California, wrote: “…your thoughtfulness
and generosity stand as a testimony to God’s grace.”
This
sentiment is echoed in other notes. Referring to their Thank You checks,
recipients wrote: “…a demonstration of God’s faithfulness”; “…an answer to
prayer”; “…a godsend”; “…a blessing”; “…therapeutic”; “…a refreshing love
gift.”
Let God’s
love flow through you by contributing to the Retired Ministers and Missionaries
Offering on Sunday, December 14, 2008.
Our 2008
goal is $800.00. Please help us:
Remember Them with Love and
Give with Gratitude.
