Hearts & Hands Ministry Bake-Off – Sunday. October 27

We will be meeting right after church to bake cookies and casseroles on Oct. 27. These will then be put into the freezer to have on hand whenever a need arises. Even if you don’t enjoy baking we still need your help with wrapping, labeling and fellowshipping. Please come join us and bring a friend along! Light refreshments will be provided. Feel free to bring a bag lunch if you’d like.

Hospitality Committee – Sunday, November 3

There will be a meeting in the Great Room of the Hospitality Committee on Sunday, November 3rd, following the worship service.

Our Stewardship Campaign is coming up soon. Please begin to prayerfully consider your pledge for next year. Also, a reminder that the church brokerage account is available for donations.

Please! Help is Needed!

Help is needed in the church nursery during our Sunday morning worship time. See Ethel Clancy (536-6265) if you can rotate in once in a while. It’s nice if the same person doesn’t have to give up church every week.

The Church’s Mission

Mission Nugget  - The Work of a Pastor’s Wife in Burma (Myanmar) Today

“I thank God for the opportunities I enjoy in serving and encouraging my community to spread the gospel with my husband. In our village 193 people have become Christians and we have planted four new churches in our area. I thank God for giving me knowledge to make traditional medicine that is prepared from the oil of natural herbal plants. The medicine from these plants is good for health and gives strength and energy. We are able to share these plants with poor people who need this tonic. We are able to sell this medicine and have provided money to earn our living and so we can spread the gospel to nonbelievers. I enjoy and thank God for these opportunities to participate in pastor’s wife training. All the lessons are valuable and important for my life and ministry. I thank everyone who continues to arrange these programs and also for the teachers who teach us”.  ~By Daw Hla Kyi, Agape Church, Mogoke, Lisu Baptist Convention

John 3: 16

World Mission Offering Litany:

Leader: When Jesus appointed “The 70”, he gave them a mission.

All: They were to travel in pairs to every town where he himself intended to go.

Leader: Today we have sent American Baptist International Ministries (IM) missionaries

All: to serve in more than 70 countries.

Leader: Jesus commissioned those sent almost two thousand years ago to embody God’s love, to Live the Word as they went to “heal the sick”.

All: Today IM partners, projects and missionaries bring healing to body, mind and spirit of those who live in South America, Europe, Africa and Asia.

Leader: “The 70” were also told to Proclaim the Word.

All: Today all IM long-term missionaries seek to make disciples for Jesus, and more than 40% of them serve those parts of the world where a majority of the people have never heard the good news of Christ.

Leader: The deeds and words of “The 70” were translated into the call for people to Be Transformed!

All: Today IM efforts worldwide convey that same message as evangelistic services are held, new churches are planted, children and adults learn to read the Bible and those who never heard of Jesus choose to become his followers.

Leader: The Scriptures come to life in the work supported by our World Mission Offering gifts.

All: We accompany those gifts with our prayers for God’s power to work through International Ministries so that the kingdom of God continues to expand around the globe.
