Introducing “We Are Caregivers”. A casual support group to help you know you're not alone. All are welcome. Who you care for isn't important. Whether you're the caregiver of an elderly person or of someone of  any age who just needs your help to live their life, this is an opportunity to get together with others going through similar circumstances. If you have been a caregiver it the past, you may be the source of encouragement or advice for someone who needs your help now. Join us one the 4th Thursday of each month at 6 pm in the church library. The first meeting will be held Thursday, October 27. Please bring a potluck dish-to-pass.

FBC Membership

If you or someone you know would be interested in becoming a member of First Baptist Church please speak with Rev. Foody or one of the Deacons.

“The Invisible War” Wednesday, October 26 @ 7pm

Have you ever wondered if Satan really IS waging some kind of war against us? The Bible clearly teaches us that Satan is on a mission to destroy God's people. The problem is, Satan doesn't telegraph his temptations and schemes. Instead, he's very secretive as he attempts to lead Christians down a delicate, subtle, gradual path of deception.

  1. Is there an unseen battle?
  2. How can I defend myself?
  3. How can I win?

That's what we'll study in the upcoming SMALL GROUP MEETINGS beginning Wed., Oct. 12 at 7 pm in the choir room. These meetings are open to ALL INTERESTED in learning how we can have a sure victory over the enemy! May this study increase your wisdom and strengthen you for the future! Keep Looking Up! ~ Cheryl Stewart

*Call To Worship

Pastor: God calls us to be a people of mission!

People: Jesus appointed the 70 and gave them a mission. They were to travel to every town where He himself intended to go.

Pastor: Today, we have sent American Baptist International Ministries missionaries

People: to serve in more than 70 countries.

Pastor: Jesus commissioned those sent almost 2000 years ago to embody God's love and to live the Word as they went to heal the sick.

All: Today International Ministries Partners, projects and missionaries bring healing to body, mind and spirit of those who live in South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Pastor: The 70 were also told to proclaim the Word.

All: Today all IM long-term missionaries seek to make disciples for Jesus, and more than 40% of them serve those parts of the world where a majority of the people have never heard the good news of Christ.

Pastor: The deeds and the words of the 70 were translated into the call for people to be transformed.

All: Today IM efforts worldwide convey that same message as evangelistic services are held, new churches are planted, children and adults learn to read the Bible and those who never heard of Jesus choose to become his followers.

Pastor: The Scriptures come to life in the work supported by our World Mission offering gifts.

All: We accompany those gifts with our prayers for God's power to work through International Ministries so that the kingdom of God continues to expand around the globe!

Pastor: Yet our work is not complete with this giving.

People: Many in our own community do not know Christ! We must find ways to reach the lost in our own community with the good news!
