Festival of Faith '09

 

Friday, Oct. 16

           

6 pm    Dinner in the Great Room, prepared by the Hospitality

            Committee. Baked Lasagna, salad, garlic bread and caramel

            apple dessert. $5.

 

7 pm    Worship~ with “Common Ground” a Christian Bluegrass Band

            from Canandaigua. Featuring a message from Jonathan

            Lawrence, “Exploring the Holy Land”.

 

Saturday, Oct. 17

 

1-3 pm Kids Fest!  Will take place in the Great Room. There

            will be a bounce house, cotton candy, popcorn, fun & games

            and an indoor campfire with story-time. All kids are invited.         

            We hope everyone will bring a handful of their friends!!    

 

7 pm    Dessert Fellowship in the Great Room with our special guest,

            Jonathan Lawrence, whose message for us will be; “Living in

            the Holy Land – Daily Life and Festivals.”

 

Sunday, Oct. 18

 

10 am  Worship with  our special guest Jonathan Lawrence. Message:

            “Living Biblically”.

 

11 am  Adult Sunday School – Once again Jonathan Lawrence will

            discuss “Modern Life in the  Holy Land”.

Work Day for Fall Fest

Join us at the home of Cindy Ovens for our 2nd work day preparing for the Fall Festival. There is much to be done. Remember, if you can't join us, you can still help! Donations of homemade preserves, canned good, crafts and cash will help.

Milly Bloomquist and her family would like to thank all of the members and friends at First Baptist Church for many kindnesses during Milly's recent illness. We are especially grateful to Pastor John Tharp and the wonderful crew who gave so generously of their time and talent over the past few weeks to build a ramp to make her house more handicap assessable. A huge thank you to Rev. John, John FM Tharp, Stan Ovens, Greg Miller, Erik Miller, Gary Enos, Connor Enos, Dave Tillman and Garrett Tillman. We feel greatly blessed by your generosity and thoughtfulness.

Community News

 

Teen Cider Pressing   - Today - Sunday, Oct. 11

All Teens! Join us for a “Fall Fun on the Farm” afternoon today from 2-4 pm at 1443 Ridge Rd (farm next to new pond, 1 mile north of Rt. 54, just before Nutt Rd). Come dressed for being outside. We will be: Pressing our apples into cider, Visiting with cows, pigs, and chickens, taking Gator “haywagon” rides, and much more fall fun!! Bring a munchie to go with the fresh cider. "Family Fun"

The Network of Spiritual Progressives presents: Fall Family Fun on

Saturday, Oct. 17, 6:30 pm at PYUMC fellowship hall.  Featured perfomers will be Chris Holder and Craig Sandberg, both members of the popular Crooked Lake Fiddlers Club, performing traditional tunes, ballads, singalongs, and tall tales  for the whole family. The event is free, refreshments available for sale. Donations accepted to support NSP  Mini Grants to programs that encourage conflict resolution and peaceful cooperation among children and youth.

 

Pork Dinner

There will be a Pork Dinner at Cobblestone Springs 4306 Lakemont-Himrod Rd. on Oct. 25, at noon. Cost will be $8.50, $7.50 for seniors.
