Advisory Council Will Meet

Thursday, October 14

Members of the Advisory Council will meet in the church library at

7 pm, on Thursday, October 14. All boards and committees need to have a representative present with their budget figures for 2011.

A Note from the Pulpit Search Committee

The Search Committee had an organizational meeting on June 29, 2010. Following summer break we met on September 23, 2010 to begin our work. You will find a chart posted to the left of the front exit from the sanctuary showing the steps of the precess of calling a new minister that have thus far been completed. The next major task of the Search Committee is the development of a self-study which leads to the completion of a Church Profile. The Church Profile is the document used to match our church with prospective ministers. There is a great deal of work involved in developing the self-study and it is essential that the resulting profile is an accurate reflection of our church and congregation. This process is expected to take from September 2010 to May 2011. We hope to have a completed profile ready for review by our Regional Minister, Rev. Shoesmith by May 2011 and submitted to American Baptist Personnel Services in June 2011. In order to ensure accuracy, the Search Committee will be coming to the congregation many times over the next few months to gather pieces of information. Please be patient and assist us by participating in our information gathering. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask our Committee members:Nancy Marion, Lyle Conrad, Judi Gibbs, Brittany Griffin, George Jensen, Greg Miller or Barbara Stewart. Thank You.
