Our Church's Mission

Mission Around the World - Bolivia
J.D. and Rhonda Reed are serving in partnership with the Union Bautista Boliviana, and live in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Their primary focus is aiding in the development of leadership in the areas of theology, mentoring pastors and helping to develop new ministry opportunities in the southern part of Bolivia. Rhonda is also volunteering as a school nurse at their children’s mission school and assisting with short term volunteer medical teams. In Bolivia, many pastors and leaders are rising to the challenge to be better leaders. Over 50 of them have enrolled in the International Ministries project “School of Leaders”. This is the first time that many of the participants have completed a survey of the entire Bible. As these leaders being to work through the program, they are rising to the ever-growing challenges of a rapidly growing city, a shortage of churches and leaders and the large needs that come in urban ministry settings. This ministry is preparing leaders for both today and the future. J.D. is working with the Bolivian Baptist Union and the Baptist Theological Seminary to expand the program nationally. God is blessing the development of leaders and the work in Bolivia. The goal of this project is to enable leaders and pastors to rise to the challenge of urban ministry in Santa Cruz and around the country. Children: Grace, Abigail and Nathanael.
Language used in ministry: Spanish.
