Our Church's Mission

Mission Around the World - Brazil
Ann and Bruce Borquist have served in Brazil since 2004. Through the National Baptist Convention of Brazil and its 2,800 churches they provide training, conferences, consultancy, information resources and networking that strengthen the ministries and leadership of state conventions; the auxiliary associates for women, men and youth; and local churches. Ann and Bruce also serve as professors and consultants for JAMI, the Convention’s cross-cultural mission agency, which equips and supports missionaries who share the good news of Jesus Christ with unreached peoples in Brazil and around the world. Ann and Bruce are honored to be part of the growing response of “majority world” churches to the Great Commission, as these churches increasingly send and support their own missionaries. Language used in ministry: Brazilian Portuguese.

Mission Giving
Thank you to everyone who kept their Mission contributions up-to-date through the summer. On August 30th we receive $99.50 plus $100 from ABMen of NYS for the sandwiches we made for the Men’s Conference. We have paid Colgate Rochester Crozer and Fairport Homes. We will need to receive about $1300 per month for the rest of the year to meet our budget.

Community News and Events

The Birthday Program!
Pastor Sandi Perl has asked us if we would like to partner with Branchport UMC in the Birthday Program. Donations of cake mixes, frostings and sprinkles are requested to give those children whose parents are on limited incomes, the chance to be able to celebrate their birthdays like “the other kids”. Watch for sales and stock up if you can.
