One is located on the front pew and the other is on the back table of the sanctuary. We have a new project we’re working on that you will soon reap the benefits of… stay tuned! ~ Heart & Hands Ministry
Would You Like to Lend a Hand?
The YC Food for the Needy is looking for a few people to be kitchen attendants during the Christmas for the Needy distribution on Dec. 11-13. A lunch will be brought in (to feed the volunteers only,) they only need people to be on hand to help maintain the kitchen, make coffee, and clean up. For more information call the church office or call Donna Johnston at 536-2683.
On June 23rd the congregation voted to accept a bid of $15,448 for the restoration of the steeple. The money to cover the cost of the project is to come from Memorial Funds, our church’s general fund and individual contributions. Since we have many plans for future improvements to our church it is very important that we do not deplete our church’s memorial funds and general fund. So please, let’s try to cover as much of this expense with individual contributions as possible. Please give what you can and designate it for the steeple restoration. You may send a check to the church office or place your contribution in the special Steeple Collection box located at the front of the church each Sunday now and through the month of September. Thank you for your continued generosity.

PATTI & TIM LONG American Baptist Missionaries in
Tim & Patti minister in leadership training by the Baja Baptist Convention, Dios Con Nosotros (God With Us). They help in the acculturation process of the many people who relocate to the
Baja Peninsulaof Mexicofrom other areas in . Oftentimes it is difficult to see beyond the seemingly endless problems associated with the dire economic situation of the neighborhoods, the difficulties each month just to pay the teacher salaries, not to mention the continued violence so prevalent in this eastern part of the city. A day of workshops for all 5th and 6th grade teachers and principals of the zone, both public and private schools, held at their school was a day that would end with a very welcome and energizing affirmation of warmth, acceptance and joy that is so lacking at their schools. One principal from a fairly prestigious school asked if she could “take back to her school” what she observed and felt at the host school. She commented that many schools have more money, nicer buildings, higher paid teachers and less diversely challenged student body than the Mexico , but they lack the nurturing environment of Monte Horeb. What a blessing for all at Monte Horeb to be reaffirmed in their educational ministry, a light that truly is making an impact and shining in a community of tremendous need, a witness to what God continues to do through a small, dedicated group of Christ’s followers! Monte Horeb School
Prayer for Patti & Tim Long
Gracious God, we thank you for the important and faithful ministry of Patti and Tim Long, our missionaries in
. As Patti ministers with special needs children and their families through the grade school at Mexico Monte Horeb Churchin Tijuana, and Tim ministers in the equipping of church leaders through the Baptist Seminary, may they be assured of our love and support. May they always be reminded of your love and guidance, even as they work under the motto of the Baja Baptist Convention, Dios Con Nosotros (God With Us). This we ask in the name of your loving Son, our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen. Mexicali
