CWS School Bag Project

Our goal is to fill 25 school bags. Each bag should include:

1 – pair blunt scissors

3 – 70 page spiral notebooks

1 – 30 centimeter (12 inch) ruler

1 – hand-held pencil sharpener

1 – lg. eraser

6 – new pencils with erasers (do not sharpen)

1 – box of 24 crayons (only 24)

19 bags have been completed!!! Only six more to go. However: Diane found some really cute fabric and has made more bags, so if you keep going we can exceed our goal!

Ushers & Greeters for Aug. 24th

Greg Miller, Erik Miller, Sheryl Robbins, Trevor Conrad

Reminder: Backpack Program

Keep in mind that we do continue to help feed our school-age kids over the summer months. These kids “get to” eat during the school year because of the “free/reduced priced” school lunches that they qualify for, so when school is not in session, then what? That is why the Bd of Missions has undertaken this project. It takes a community to raise a child. Thank you for what you can, and do, contribute.

Reminder to Save:

Fronts of your received greeting cards for Hearts & Hands Ministry

(find drop box in sanctuary)

Cancelled stamps for Missions (see bulletin board)

Box Tops for Missions (see new display on Reader’s Table)

Thank You

I want to thank you for remembering me. I really appreciate the cards and notes. Love, Elsie Tousley

We will again take part in the Keuka College “Houses of Worship Carnival” on Saturday, September 6th, from 1-4 pm on the Chapel lawn. We will have a game booth, prizes and snacks as we talk with students and let them know of our presence within the community. Interested in helping out with this ministry? See Rev. Sanden.

The Church’s Mission

Mission  Nugget  -  American Baptist Churches of NYS

The Regional enhancement team is the way our Region ministers to churches in the pastoral search process. These persons, from each Association, work with the Region to find answers and resources for churches in consultation with the leadership of the Association and under the supervision of the Associate Executive Minister of ABC/NYS. There are costs for this ministry – training, material resources, and travel; these expenses are supplied through the mission giving of our churches to the Region. Team members donate their time and offer their prayers for your church. Team members in our Finger Lakes Association are the Rev. Debbie Kamm and the Rev. Janice Bourne.
