News and Upcoming Events

 

Monday Church Supper – August 12 ~ 5pm

Carrie and Sean Ahearn will continue to prepare the church suppers in July. In August, Pastor Steve and Karen and others will be your supper hosts.

 

Summer Concert SeriesAugust 14

Just one more concert to go! All monies raised from the sale of hot dogs and hamburgers before the Wednesday concerts go to the restoration of the church steeple. We can always use help prepping, serving, grilling and tearing down. Thank You!

Memorial Service for Marge Moulton -  August 24

A memorial Service for Marge Moulton will be held on Saturday, August 24th at 2 pm.

Following the service there will be fellowship and light refreshments in the Great Room.

 

Keuka College Carnival August 30

Set for Friday, August 30th at 6 pm, this annual event is a great way for incoming students to see the various places of worship in our community. The evening has a carnival feel as the students visit each booth for games and lite conversation. Contact Pastor Steve if you are interested in helping out.

The Church’s Mission

 

Mission Nugget

Patti and Tim Long began their mission service in Baja California, Mexico, in July 1996. Patti ministers as a special education teacher and resource specialist at the Monte Horeb Baptist Grade School in Tijuana, a school that reaches out to the most vulnerable of the city’s young population, its children with special needs. She also coordinates the STEP scholarship program for students at the school. Tim serves in leadership development through the Baja Baptist Seminary, teaching present and future church leaders, both at its Mexicali campus and extension centers located throughout Baja California. He also coordinates a scholarship program for seminary students. Language used in ministry: Spanish.

 

Board of Missions August Spotlight Item

Canned Tuna & Chicken

Summer donations are especially important because the kids are not in school to obtain reduced price/free lunches.

 

Mission Treasury

Thank you to all who gave to Missions in July. The totals for the month were: For the Treasury $1286.50; One Great Hour of Sharing $2, (total $724); Penny Project $16.67 (total $30.17). We paid out $900 for United Mission Basics; $100 for Karen Ministry in Utica; $100 for New Church Development; and $300 for Camp Vick.

Milly’s Pantry Summer Weekend Backpack Needs

Canned chicken/tuna, Cereal/granola bars

Individual fruit cups, Individual shelf-stable milk (available at BJ’s)

Donations may be left here or at the Red Cross Office on Elm Street.

 

Yates County Habitat for Humanity

As covenant churches in partnership with YCHH, we express our most sincere gratitude for the help that you give us. We will soon be establishing a partnership with our 14th family in Yates Co., as we continue to build lives and communities and again ask you to remember us in your prayers.

We would also ask that if there are any in your congregation who love to cook, bake or buy, we are always in need of goodies for our Wednesday or Saturday coffee breaks and our Wednesday noon lunches. Charlie Marks in in the process of establishing a list of available persons or groups. If interested would you please contact him at 536-8213. Thank you.

You are invited to bring your children to the nursery during the service for a safe and Christian environment so that you may more fully experience Worship. Following today’s service please come to enjoy coffee, refreshments and fellowship in the Great Room.
