Reminder: Backpack Program

Keep in mind that we do continue to help feed our school-age kids over the summer months: those that attend summer-school and the summer recreation programs get food. These kids “get to” eat during the school year because of the “free/reduced priced” school lunches that they qualify for. That is why the Board of Missions has undertaken this project: to see that our children will have good foods to eat over the summer months when school is not in session. It takes a community to raise a child. Thank you for any little bit that you can and do contribute.

The Church’s Mission

Mission  Nugget  -  American Baptist Churches of NYS

Our Region provides Leadership development through Board Training Events across New York State. These church board training workshops have helped participants learn about what it takes to be an effective local church board member and understand expectations and legal responsibilities. Or qualified presenters share their many experiences as well as equip participants with more knowledge about what church board responsibilities really are. The Fall Meeting of our Finger Lakes Association on September 14, 2014, will be led by our Region Executives, Rev. Jim Kelsey and Rev. Jerrod Hugenot, with workshops for Pastors, Clerks, Moderators, Trustees, Finance Committees, Treasurers, Deacons, and Pastoral Relations Committees.

Mission Report

Thank you for your Mission Pledges of $416 received on August 3rd. Thank you also for the $9 in pennies for Milly’s Backpack Program. We now have $17.80 toward our end-of-the year contribution.
