Pastoral Calls

Over the summer months, Greg Marion will be taking pastoral calls. His number is 536-6771.

 

Church World Service Hygiene & School Kits

There will be a collection box in the foyer during the month of August for anyone who would like to contribute items for making up some of the kits. On the box are slips for the items needed, that you can take with you to the store. Completed kits will be presented to Amy Manning, our guest speaker for Women's Sunday on Sept. 19. If you can't shop, you may wish to contribute money that we will use to purchase any items needed to complete a kit and to cover postage.

Summer Book Study

Kerry Fitch will lead a study based on the book, “Have A Little Faith” by Mitch Albom, on Tuesdays August 3, 10, and 17 at her home at 3240 County House Road, at 6:30 pm. For additional information, call 536-0857.

 

The Presbyterian Church Parking Lot

will be closed August 2 through 4th for resurfacing. You may need to find other parking areas if you need to be here on those days.

 

Rev. Paul Malles will be at the First Presbyterian Church this week, with Bible Study resuming on Wednesday, August 4, at 10 am.

 

Rev. Paul Malles will be preaching at First Baptist Church, on Sunday, August 8, at 10 am.

 

Presbyterian Church members and friends who wish to contribute to a House-warming gift for Paul and Linda Malles may put a check in the offering plate, addressed to the First Presbyterian Church, with a notation of “Gift for Paul & Linda.”

 

 

Community News

 

Bluff Point VBS

The Bluff Point UMC will be holding an evening VBS this week

Aug. 2 – 6, at the home of Ed & Sally Head 9 Kennedy Avenue from 6-8 pm.  The theme is Saddle Up With Jesus and they will be teaching the Lord's Prayer. Interested persons may contact Pastor Judy White at jdwefw2@yahoo.com

 

School Supply Program

YATES CO. SCHOOL SUPPLY PROGRAM - FILL THE BUS!

Once again this year there will be a collection of school supplies taking place. This collection, sponsored by Milly's Pantry will provide the items needed for children to start the school year on a positive note.

 

500 age appropriate backpacks have already been purchased. Last year this program under Christmas for the Needy, provided 305 backpacks. We are anticipating a greater need due to fully incorporating children in the Dundee School System and our current economic environment. We will be working with local merchants to display our supply list, please spread the word to neighbors and friends and family.

The following list includes items for all grades:

pens (black & blue), pencils, erasers & pencil cap erasers, colored pencils, colored markers, highlighters, glue sticks, glue bottles, 1 subject notebooks, loose paper, folders (2 pocket w/prongs) dividers for binders, post it notes, marbled colored composition books, graph paper, extra find black sharpie, pencil case, package of hole reinforcements for loose paper, index cards (plain & lined) binders 1-1&1/2” 3 ring binders, crayons, box of tissues, disinfectant wipes, small notepad (3X5 or 4X6), children's scissors, and hand sanitizer.

 

Volunteers are also needed at both site locations. Call Suzan Richards at 315-244-5763 if you or your group can help.
