Generous God, you have given us so much, and you have rejoiced in sharing it with us. May the gifts we offer today be dedicated to your ministries: the work of justice, peace, mercy, healing, comfort, and compassion. We know that all we have to give has its source in you, and that we are only holding it for a time, to be used for your purposes. Thank you for the chance to be part of your mission. We rejoice as your love dances through us and out into service and sharing for all of your children. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.

The Church’s Mission

Mission Nugget

One Great Hour of Sharing Touches Lives in Emergencies

Wherever disaster strikes, OGHS funds can be sent to help. In 2012, American Baptist OGHS funds were sent for Wildfire relief in Colorado, Tornado relief in Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, and Ohio, Flood Relief in New York State and Oklahoma, and continuing relief to victims of Hurricanes Irene, Katrina, Rita and Sandy. No one individual or church could touch all the lives or places in immediate and long-term times of need, but by joining together with others, we can be of help to many persons in many places. Let us join the sentiments of our hearts with willing and generous gifts in the ministries provided by the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering.

Board of Missions July Spotlight Item

The Spotlight Item for the Backpack Program is: macaroni & cheese (box or cups)

Mission Financial Report

Combined Mission Giving for June 9th and 16th was $432 for the treasury and $312 for the One Great Hour of Sharing. The OGHS total is now $653 towards our goal of $700. Thank You.
