News and Upcoming Events

Finger Lakes Association Meeting and Picnic TODAY
You are invited to a combined Wayne and Finger Lakes Association worship service and picnic at First Baptist Church of Wolcott. Worship and hymn sing at 3 pm, followed by a picnic. Bring a dish-to-pass, lawn chairs and games. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided.
Here are directions to Wolcott FBC from the south. Take NYS Route 14 to Route 104. Turn right and go 9 miles east on Route 104. Turn left at traffic light at Whiskey Hill Road. FBC Wolcott is .09 mile on left.

Church & Community Supper - Monday, June 13
Suppers are held each Monday at 5:00 pm in the Great Room - $3.00 - all are welcome!
This week's entree: Hamburger Stroganoff

Church Family Picnic - Sunday, June 19
Bring your own place setting and a dish-to-share. Hot dogs, hamburgers and dessert will be provided.

2016 Vacation Bible School! - June 27 – July 1
FIESTA! - Where Kids Are Fired Up! about Jesus! Vacation Bible School is just around the corner. Mom and Dad, are your kids signed up? Do you have friends or neighbors whose kids would be blessed by attending and learning about Jesus, their friend?

Pick up registration forms from the Reader’s Table. This year VBS will take place June 27 – July 1st. There will be breakfast, arts and crafts, mission projects, games, songs, and snacks. Family and friends are invited to the finale at 11:30 every day; a celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned.

Vacation Bible School needs
large plastic Easter eggs, ribbon, crepe paper and round oatmeal containers.

Our Church's Mission

Mission Around the World ~ Japan ~
Through a unique partnership between International Ministries (IM) and Kanto Gakuin University in Japan, Dr. Shigemi Tomita has been appointed to serve as an associate missionary. After completing her PhD and theological studies in Canada, Shigemi has returned to her home country. She teaches Bible classes for elementary school students and their parents, and also assists with conversational English classes in elementary schools. In addition to this, Shigemi speaks at chapel services, is an advisor for a volunteer club of the university and represents IM on Kanto Gakuin’s Board of Directors and Board of Counselors. Languages used in ministry: Japanese and English

Mission Giving

Thank you for your giving to Missions on June 5th. $507.50 was received for the Budget; $140 for One Great Hour of Sharing toward our goal of $750; and the $46 for Backpack Pennies brings our Spring total to $195.50.

Community News and Events

A new young adult ministry is forming in Penn Yan for people out of high school up to their mid/late twenties.
Why should young adults join?
1) Reconnect with old friends and make new ones
2) Make connections through faith, similar interest and career goals 3) There’s food! We will meet the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month.
The first gathering is TODAY at 1 pm at Dunkin Donuts.
