American Baptist Respond to
Tornado Victims Oklahoma
Within hours of the time when a massive tornado tore through Moore, Okla., and surrounding suburbs of Oklahoma City on Monday, May 21st, damaging homes, businesses and elementary schools, American Baptists release $5,000 in One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) domestic emergency disaster-relief funds for initial assistance to those in need. More funds will follow as specific needs are noted. Since the OGHS collection raises funds ahead of time, help can be sent immediately without waiting for churches to respond to a special appeal. This is why we seek generous support of the OGHS each June, to provide immediate help year-round.
Penny Project & Backpack program
The Board of
will continue to receive pennies for the Penny Project anytime. The Penny Jar is on the Altar Rail. Mission
The Missions Spotlight Item for the Backpack Program for the month of June is: Fruit Cups.
Friends, you have been so generous in donating foods for the Backpack Program. The Bd of
appreciates your generosity. We do hope you will continue to assist this very worthy mission we have chosen to help feed children that otherwise would go hungry on the weekends. - Missions Board Mission

Help Wanted - Treasurer
Stan Ovens is retiring after 22+ years in the position. We greatly need someone to “learn the ropes” and take on this responsibility on July 1, 2013. This is an un-paid position and is open to a church member in good standing. In the hope that additional information will help inspire someone to step up and try this important position in the church, here's a listing of the duties of the treasurer:
1. Sign checks as needed (payroll and regular monthly bills will be handled online).
2. Review and sign all paperwork submitted by the bookkeeper.
3. Return signed paperwork submitted by the bookkeeper.
4. Present monthly reports to Trustees.
We have hired Jan Hafner as our bookkeeper. Her duties include:
1. Prepare payroll.
2. Accounts payable (including all required tax forms).
3. Monthly bank reconciliation.
4. Provide paperwork to Treasurer for signature.
5. Keep filing up-to-date.
Please prayerfully consider how you might be able to help the Church. Let a Trustee know if your heart has been touched to take on this position.
Do you love history? Do you enjoy preserving the bits and pieces of history so they aren't forgotten or lost? If so, then we have an opportunity for you! Richard Johnson is looking for someone to help out/take over the position. There are pictures, newspaper articles and albums that need to be cared for. If you are interested call the church office at 536-9821.
