One Great Hour of Sharing helps in several important areas: SAFE & NUTRICIOUS FOOD so families can maintain a healthy and active life. IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE TO COMMUNITIES IMPACTED BY DISASTER and a helping presence for the long term to ensure that vulnerable persons recover and are prepared for the future. ASSISTANCE TO MANY OF THE 15.5 MILLION REFUGEES WORLDWIDE who are uprooted by persecution and armed conflict. IMMIGRATION LEGAL SERVICES, including assistance with travel documents, petitions for family members and more. HELP FOR CHILDREN, realizing that the first 1,000 days of a child’s life are especially important, as they’re the most vulnerable to malnutrition, unsafe water and other threats. GOOD DRINKING WATER, since more than one billion people lack access to safe water – and more that 2.1 million of them die each year from water borne diseases. We’re making a difference.

Help Wanted - Treasurer
Stan Ovens is retiring after 22+ years in the position. We greatly need someone to “learn the ropes” and take on this responsibility on July 1, 2013. This is an un-paid position and is open to a church member in good standing. In the hope that additional information will help inspire someone to step up and try this important position in the church, here's a listing of the duties of the treasurer:
1. Sign checks as needed (payroll and regular monthly bills will be handled online).
2. Review and sign all paperwork submitted by the bookkeeper.
3. Return signed paperwork submitted by the bookkeeper.
4. Present monthly reports to Trustees.
We have hired Jan Hafner as our bookkeeper. Her duties include:
1. Prepare payroll.
2. Accounts payable (including all required tax forms).
3. Monthly bank reconciliation.
4. Provide paperwork to Treasurer for signature.
5. Keep filing up-to-date.
Please prayerfully consider how you might be able to help the Church. Let a Trustee know if your heart has been touched to take on this position.
Do you love history? Do you enjoy preserving the bits and pieces of history so they aren't forgotten or lost? If so, then we have an opportunity for you! Richard Johnson is looking for someone to help out/take over the position. There are pictures, newspaper articles and albums that need to be cared for. If you are interested call the church office at 536-9821.

Luminaries will be for sale today in the Great Room for the Relay for Life. They cost $5 each and are made out in honor or in memory of someone you know whose life has been touched by cancer. These luminary bags are lit and are placed along the track where they remain throughout the night, lighting the way to a cure. Your support truly makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.
