Important Directory / Photograph News

The last opportunity for you and your family to have your pictures taken for our 2014 directory will be on Thursday, April 24th. Be sure you are signed up! We recently had a Lifetouch photography event. If you elected to have your complimentary 8x10 sent to FBC for pick up, the portraits are now in (see Tracy White or Rev. Steve). If your portrait is not in the current shipment, it means it will be coming in a future shipment and we will notify you of when that occurs.

Men’s Group - Saturday, April 26

The next meeting of the Men’s Group will be on Saturday, April 26th. They gather at 8 am for a lite breakfast, devotions and then a work project. All men and boys of the church are invited.

Easter Lilies / Flowers

It’s that time of year to adorn our sanctuary with beautiful Easter flowers. If you would like to place flowers in honor and/or in memory of a loved one, we ask that you purchase your own plant and bring it into the sanctuary by Friday, April 18th. Please remember to label your plant for easy retrieval on Easter morning. Please provide the information below, and leave it in the offering plate, turn it into the church office, or call in to the church office. Your information needs to be received by Wednesday, April 16th in order for it to be printed in the Easter Sunday bulletin.

July 5th and 6th here at FBC. We are accepting the following in good condition: furniture, small appliances, kitchen and home décor items and infant/toddler clothing and toys. Please no adult clothing. Bring your items to the church at any time. If you are unable to transport your items, please contact a member of the Men’s Group for assistance. If you have any questions, please contact the sale’s committee members: Karen Rasmussen, Karen Sanden, Nancy Marion or Bill Decker. Remember, we will need much help at the time of the sale. Mission Nugget – NYS Baptist Camps and Camp Vick :



  • HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA WEEK - a year’s worth of holiday fun in one week!
  • GEOCACHING ADVENTURE – a real-world outdoor treasure hunting game using a GPS-enabled device.
  • GIRL’S CRAFTASTIC WEEK – a week FULL of crafting and fun!
  • WACKY, WET & WILD WEEK – exciting games challenges and experiments that will get you wet, maybe a little messy and that are sure to be full of WILD fun!
  • SPLASH! CAMP – just like the name implies, everything we’ll do involves water in some way or another.
  • BEGINNERS – this unique overnight camping experience is designed to give younger campers a positive experience in a supportive Christian environment.
  • CAMP VICK INVESTIGATES – a weeklong investigation of a “crime” at Camp Vick.
  • FRONTIER BOYS - at our Frontier Facility, campers learn to survive in the wilderness – cooking basic meals, boating and canoeing techniques and first aid basics.


Mission Giving:

Your giving for others and Missions on April 6th was $548 for the Budget and another $17 for Love Gift. The Easter Offering, which all goes for Mission, was $45 towards our goal of $650. This offering is very important because after the first quarter of 2014, our receipts for the Budget are already $82 behind what was adopted at the Annual Meeting. Thank you to all who have shared with others in the community and around the world.

The Penn Yan United Methodist Women cordially invite the women of FBC to attend the annual Palm Monday Light Breakfast.

Chicken BBQ - Sunday, April 27

The Footprints Team from the Relay for Life will be holding their annual chicken barbecue, catered by Gale-Wyn, at the Lyons National Bank parking lot. We will be serving 11 am ‘til sold out. The cost is $8.50 per dinner which includes dessert and beverage. Why not treat yourself and swing by after church? All proceeds go directly to The American Cancer Society. Thank you so much for your support.
