Business Meeting Today

There will be a business meeting of the Penn Yan First Baptist Church immediately following worship service today. The meeting will be held in the sanctuary. The purpose of this meeting will be to share information regarding the Search Committee's recommendation of Rev. Stephen Sanden to be our new pastor. Please make every effort to attend.

Rev. Sanden and his wife Karen will be here to meet our members on the weekend of April 21-22, 2012. There will be an informal open house from 3-5 pm on Saturday, April 21, 2012 for members to come and meet Rev. Sanden and Karen. Rev. Sanden will be conducting the worship service on April 22, 2012. The vote to accept Rev. Sanden as our new minister will occur following the worship service in which Rev. Sanden preaches. You must be a member to cast a ballot. Thank you ~ Nancy Marion, Moderator


Easter Egg Hunt

Sunday, April 1, in the County Courtyard at 1 pm. There will be prizes and a visit from the Easter Bunny! We hope to see kids there from toddlers to 5th grade.


Kidz Klub

The March meeting of The Kidz Klub will be this Friday, March 30, at 6 pm. We will meet in the church office space and will stuff the eggs for the Easter Egg hunt. Adult volunteers are always welcome. Thanks for taking time to help out, our kids are important!


Greeters/Lay Readers

Richard Davis has the task of signing up people to serve as greeters and lay readers. Please see him after the service and let him know if he can call you occasionally to minister in this way.


Mission Finances

Budget contributions from March 11 & 18 totaled $259.50. Contributions for the Penny Project (Backpack Program) totaled $98.46. As of March 18, the America for Christ total is $607.50.

Easter Lilies

It's that time of year again when we decorate our sanctuary with beautiful Easter flowers. If you would like to place a flower in honor and/or in memory of a loved one, we ask that you purchase your own flower and bring it to the sanctuary by Friday, April 6. Please remember to label your plant on the back or bottom for easy retrieval on Easter morning. If you wish to give flowers in honor or memory of a loved one, please fill out the form below and leave it in the offering plate or turn it into the church office. Forms need to be received by Wednesday, April 4, in order to have your information printed in the Easter Sunday bulletin.

Community Supper

You are invited to a free community supper at the PY United Methodist Church. The supper will take place on Tuesday, March 27 from 5:30-7:30 pm. Every month on the last Tuesday the supper takes place and the community is invited to attend.


CROP Walk:    ~ Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty ~

It's time for the annual CROP Walk. This year's CROP Walk will be held May 6, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church beginning at 1 pm. There is a five mile route and a one mile Golden Mile route. We need walkers as well as sponsors. The CROP Walk helps support the International Relief and Development work of Church World Service as well as local hunger-fighting efforts. Please give prayerful consideration in your help in this endeavor. Please contact the church office (536-9821) for donation envelopes and for more information.
