From the Advisory Council

During Sunday worship, you have heard our Pastor tell us that we need to be the light of Christ; that we need to work to bring people to the Lord and to salvation. This is the mission of Christians and the real purpose of the Church. We cannot let these words fall on deaf ears. So, in 2013 we want to develop a plan to do outreach and local mission projects to better connect with the community and  to demonstrate that we are an active, welcoming church. Each board and committee will be brainstorming to come up with activities to make our church more visible in the community and to help individuals in need. But this is not a project just for Boards and Committees! We would like EVERYONE'S input. That means YOU.

….So, start thinking and think “outside the box”. Any and all ideas are welcome! We are looking for a variety of activities. Pass your ideas on to any board or committee member or better yet bring them directly to an Advisory Council meeting. We have significant memorial funds to assist us with these projects so don't assume cost would prohibit us from considering your idea. Thank you. We look forward to hearing from you.

Dear Church Family

As you are aware each Board and Committee was asked to be the “Light of Christ” and come up with some things to do to make our church more visible in the community and to help those in need. The Board of Missions decided one thing we would do each month is to ask members of the congregation to bring one item or more if you desire, to assist the Backpack Program. This month of March we are asking for packets of Hot Chocolate. Please consider helping. Thank you for being the Light of Christ.

Mission Nugget

Our Special Interest International Missionaries, Charles and Sarah Clement-West represent a typical missionary family. They first left the U.S. for South Africa fifteen years ago with three little children who had not begun elementary school. As they went to Zambia, two of those MK's (Missionary Kids) who grew up on the field with them had already left the nest for college, and their youngest had just graduated high school with plans for college in the fall. After spending the last six years in Zambia, Charles and Sarah now have three adult offspring who have finished university and are working in their own careers.

Mission Treasury

On March 17th, we received $232 for the budget; $7 for America for Christ (total to date: $826), and $45 for the Easter Offering (toward the budgeted goal of $600). Thank you.
