From the Advisory Council

Dear FBC Congregation, - During Sunday worship, you have heard our Pastor tell us that we need to be the light of Christ; that we need to work to bring people to the Lord and to salvation. This is the mission of Christians and the real purpose of the Church. We cannot let these words fall on deaf ears. So, in 2013 we want to develop a plan to do outreach and local mission projects to better connect with the community and  to demonstrate that we are an active, welcoming church.

Each board and committee will be brainstorming to come up with activities to make our church more visible in the community and to help individuals in need. But this is not a project just for Boards and Committees! We would like EVERYONE'S input. That means YOU. So, start thinking and think “outside the box”. Any and all ideas are welcome! We are looking for a variety of activities. Pass your ideas on to any board or committee member or better yet bring them directly to an Advisory Council meeting. We have significant memorial funds to assist us with these projects so don't assume cost would prohibit us from considering your idea. Thank you. We look forward to hearing from you.

Dear Church Family

As you are aware each Board and Committee was asked to be the “Light of Christ” and come up with some things to do to make our church more visible in the community and to help those in need. The Board of Missions decided one thing we would do each month is to ask members of the congregation to bring one item or more if you desire, to assist the Backpack Program. This month of March we are asking for packets of Hot Chocolate. Please consider helping. Thank you for being the Light of Christ.

A Nugget of News from Missions

Our Special Interest International Missionaries, Charles and Sarah Clement-West have helped a community to better the present and future lives of its children through education in Kalikiliki, Zambia. Through faithful teachers and religious education classes, the good news of the love of God and the saving and transforming power of Jesus Christ are introduced to the children attending the

Wellspring of Faith and Hope Community School. The school is a beacon of light bringing people to faith in Christ, changing lives through education, and empowering the whole community.

Piano Music

The Homestead is looking for donations of old church sheet music for their residents who play the piano. Please drop off your donations to the church office and they will be fowarded. Thank you.

Mission Treasury

The Board of Mission says “Thank You”. The combined America for Christ Offering on March 3rd and 10th of $499 brings our total to $819 ($119 over our goal of $700). We also received $624 in pledges and donations on these two Sunday. Please remember that all of our Easter Offering goes to Missions. Please give prayerfully and generously.  Thank you.
