News
There has been an
interest in making a 2nd crochet/knit project. Several different
ideas have been suggested which include a prayer shawl, lap throw or another
“quilt”. The prayer shawl would be shared within our own congregation and
passed from family to family as needed. We may donate the throw/quilt to the
American Red Cross. Sooooo, if you still have leftover yarn and an “itch to
stitch” keep those 6 inch squares coming. Remember they can either be crocheted
or knitted and can be any pattern you choose as long as they measure as close
to a 6 inch block as possible. We will be collecting them through April 27.
Thanks again! Sheryl and Pam
The Board of Missions
is collecting UPC labels from Campbell soups and related products. We would like to be able to send the labels
out by mid-April. This project benefits Springbrook, a home for disabled
children and adults in Oneonta. Please give your labels to Ed Castillo or you
may leave them in the church office.
Do you serve on a church
board and yet aren’t
sure what your role
is? Have you ever thought
of serving but don’t
know what is required?
On Saturday, March
29, in Newark there will
be a church board
training seminar. The training
will last from 9 a.m.
to 3:30 p.m. The cost per person is $10, however if we can commit to more than
five people to attend, the cost is lowered to $7.50 per person. Contact Cheryl
Stewart by Friday,
March 14, if you
would like to attend and carpool!
We did it! Thanks to
the help of so many hands and hearts we were able to make our first
crochet/knit “quilt”. We are donating the quilt to the Keuka Comfort Care Home,
where it will be used to bring warmth and comfort to those needing an extra
“hug”. Our appreciation goes out to each and every one of you who helped to
make this happen. As Mother Teresa said, “We can do no great things – only
small things with great love.” Sheryl Robbins and Pam Scutt
Pastor Janice Robinson
will offer a course in the New Testament at the FBC of Geneva, on Wednesdays
from 1:30-3:30 beginning March 12, and continuing each Wednesday for 10 weeks.
Contact Greg Marion at 536-6771 for more information.
A CROP Walk Recruiter
is needed to help with
this year’s walk. Please contact Sarah Stackhouse at 536-9482. The meeting is
scheduled for March 18, at 7 p.m., Bluff Point UMC.
Thank
You to all who gave their time
to help with the set up, tear down and every thing in between for the Lenten
Luncheons.
Thanks go out to the Hospitality Committee for hosting a
very lovely time of refreshments and fellowship following the service for our
friend Gene Guild.

For
every storm, a rainbow, for every tear, a smile,
For
every care, a promise, and a blessing in each trial.

every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share,
For
