Mission in New York State ~ Buffalo, New York ~
Baptist Manor Senior Apartments is a non-profit organization funded under the Section 236 program by the U. S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development known as HUD. Their mission is to provide affordable housing to low and moderate income senior citizens. Baptist Manor has a contract rent as set by New York State Housing and Community Renewal. At this time, the contract rent, depending on which floor plan you choose, is $546, $592 or 30% of your adjusted annual income. Income limits apply and are listed on the rental application. In their neighborhood they are known as a “Community of Caring“ for senior citizens. They are a nutrition site for Erie County and offer residents a delicious lunch on weekdays in the community room. They have a full-time Resident Advisor to help residents access the services they need as they age in an independent setting (apartment) and offer numerous activities to keep seniors active. They are located on historic Linwood Avenue in the heart of the City of Buffalo, NY, close to hospitals, convenience stores and public transportation.
Thank you for your Mission Budget contributions on March 6th of $429.25. In addition, another $90 was received for America for Christ, bringing our total to $531.57 towards our $899 goal. We also received $8 in Backpack Pennies giving us $9.50. In our adopted budget we allowed for an Easter offering of $550. We have received $100. Thank you.
Mission Collection for the Backpack Program:
During the month of March - Macaroni & Cheese. We would like to collect boxed and microwavable cup varieties to distribute to the Yates County Backpack Program.
