Message from the Advisory Council

Dear FBC Congregation, During Sunday worship, you have heard our Pastor tell us that we need to be the light of Christ; that we need to work to bring people to the Lord and to salvation. This is the mission of Christians and the real purpose of the Church. We cannot let these words fall on deaf ears. So, in 2013 we want to develop a plan to do outreach and local mission projects to better connect with the community and  to demonstrate that we are an active, welcoming church.

Each board and committee will be brainstorming to come up with activities to make our church more visible in the community and to help individuals in need. But this is not a project just for Boards and Committees! We would like EVERYONE'S input. That means YOU. So, start thinking and think “outside the box”. Any and all ideas are welcome! We are looking for a variety of activities. Pass your ideas on to any board or committee member or better yet bring them directly to an Advisory Council meeting. We have significant memorial funds to assist us with these projects so don't assume cost would prohibit us from considering your idea. Thank you. We look forward to hearing from you.

Wanted: Meet & Greet Hosts

The Deacons would like to have YOU host small group

Meet & Greet sessions for Rev. Sanden. The goal is to allow Pastor Steve to speak with our members in a comfortable setting and to learn more about the pulse of our church. A clip board is available for host sign ups at this time. You may also call the church office to sign up.

Can You Help?

Donations of dish soap and paper towels and Murphy's Oil Soap

A Nugget of News from Missions

Our Special Interest Missionaries, Charles & Sarah Clement-West, serve with American Baptist International Ministries in areas of Leadership Development, Theological Education and Evangelism, Community Development and projects that promote empowerment of women, poverty alleviation and education of children. Over the past 15 years they have served in South Africa and Zambia.

Mission Treasury

February 24th Missions Income was only $88 for the budget. Therefore we were only able to pay our $900 for United Missions Basics and $300 for Cameron Community Ministries in Rochester. If Cameron receives enough, this $300 will be doubled through the “Feinstein Challenge” In addition another $76 was received for America For Christ, giving us $320 towards our goal of $700. Please remember that all of our Easter Offering goes to Missions. Please give prayerfully and generously. We still have not received enough to give our Food for the Needy donation. Thank you. (Look for the next report on March 17th).
