The Church’s Mission

Mission Nugget

Kodiak Baptist Mission, Kodiak Alaska; Trevor Jones, Director

Director Trevor Jones says, “When serving at a ministry with more than 100 years of history, present-day relevancy must stand in concert with the past. Staying true to our heritage, we reach out to meet the needs of today.” “We work with children in the formative years, building a Christ-centered foundation that will serve them for a lifetime.” “There may not be a need for orphanages anymore, but there are now desperate needs for families with young children. Families need to know there are places and people that care about their children and their children’s futures as much as they do. “ Today KBM serves more than 150 kids daily in preschool and after-school programs, operates Kodiak’s local food bank, has taken on a satellite mission in the village of Ouzinkie and is finishing construction of its new heritage center. This is the most significant facility development for the mission since it was rebuilt on its present location in 1937 after a devastating fire.

Prayer for Trevor Jones and the Kodiak Baptist Mission, Kodiak, Alaska:

We thank you, O God, for the expanding ministry of Trevor Jones and the Kodiak Baptist Mission as they serve children and parents in Kodiak, Alaska. May these families find true Christian love and care for them through the Mission and also come to know the Author of Eternal love and life, Jesus Christ. May the leaders find loyal and skilled staff and volunteers to share in this ministry and experience your guidance and strengthening every day, even as we remember them with our prayers and support. We ask all this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Mission Receipts:

Mission Treasury Income for February 16th was $91. In addition, $30 was given for the America for Christ Offering. The total is now $32 towards our goal of $825.

Board of Missions Spotlight Items:

February  Item to benefit  Milly’s Backpack Program is Hot Cocoa.

March item to benefit  Milly’s Backpack Program is: Macaroni ‘n Cheese (cups or boxes)

Thank you very much for your support of this mission! You do make a difference in the lives of our YC Youth!
