Memorial Bulletins
Memorial bulletins are a way to honor a loved one and at the same time help cover the cost of bulletins. For a $10 donation you can choose a Sunday to dedicate the bulletins to the honor or memory of a loved one. Forms are available on the table in the foyer and should be submitted to the church office.

Mission Nugget

Mission Around the World - Japan
Gordon and Lee Ann Hwang are serving in Yokohama, Japan. Gordon exercises gifts of service and hospitality. He hosts a weekly fellowship meeting in their home. Lee Ann works full-time as an English conversation teacher for junior and senior high students at Soshin Girls’ School. She also has opportunities to influence students in two clubs, through the foreign exchange programs, speaking in chapel and with their home-fellowship meetings. Gordon and Lee Ann continue to visit and encourage pastors ministering to survivors of the 2011 earthquake disaster in Tohoku (NE Japan). Languages used in ministry: English and Japanese

Mission Budget Report
Thank you for your Mission contributions on February 8th, of $293. This will enable us to pay our February United Mission donation and our donation to Cameron Community Center in Rochester.

Community News and Events

Mission Trip to India - Sunday, February 15
On Sunday, February 15th, all are invited to the Penn Yan UMC to experience the 3 week trip that J.J. Warren and other youth took to India as they met, worked and worshipped with Christians in India. The evening will begin at 6:30 pm with a dish-to-pass supper (there might even be some flavors of India). Please bring your own dishes and flatware. Then at 7:00 J.J. will share his slideshow presentation. The public and youth groups are all invited to attend. Please RSVP to the church at 536-6771 with the number of people attending.

Soup’s On at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church
Homemade soups will be available for pick-up every Friday night in Lent from 4 pm to 6 pm. Each week there will be: New England Clam Chowder, Chicken Vegetable Soup, plus 1 soup du jour in one quart containers at $10. Please call or email the Episcopal Church office to pre-order your soup by Noon on Thursday. You may leave a message. Office hours are Mon – Fri, 10 am to 1 pm, phone 536-3955.

Bible Drive
The Living Well is seeking donations of Bibles so they have some to hand out when they council. If you have extra Bibles at home that you would like to donate you may leave them in the church office.

Lunch and Learn - Thursday, February 26
The Keuka Comfort Care Home will hold a Lunch and Learn for those who would like more information on becoming a volunteer caregiver on Thursday, February 26, from Noon to 1:30pm. You will learn about the caregiver program and meet current volunteers. RSVP to 536-1690.

Mansfield University concert - Sunday, March 1st
Mansfield University will hold a concert at Congregational Church in Canandaigua, on Sunday, March 1st. This is Meghan Fuqua’s final semester and the closest that Mansfield will perform.

Finger Lakes Association meeting - Sunday, March 8th
There will be a Finger Lakes Association meeting here on Sunday, March 8th. Registration begins at 2:45 pm. The theme is “Baptist Can Have Fun: Let’s Have a Hymn Sing”. A dish-to-pass dinner to follow.

Mission Around the World – The Philippines
Jonathan and Thelma Nambu are Associate Missionaries appointed by IM in partnership with Samaritana Transformation Ministries, an organization committed to sharing and living out the Gospel among women caught in prostitution. The Nambu’s ministry involves caring for and empowering women in the Philippines, as well as partnerships in the Asia region and around the world towards prostitution-free societies.

Calling all Volunteer Readers
PYE is looking for community members to volunteer some of their time as a guest reader during our PYE Reading Incentive. Guest readers would read a book aloud to one or more of our classrooms during the week of March 2nd – 6th. If you are available and willing to read to our classes, please fill out a form (available on the Reader’s Table) and return it to the main office at PYE or email your availability to Mrs. Dallos at by Tuesday, February 24th. You will receive a confirmation slip with a time and location.
