Our Church's Mission

Mission ~ in New York State ~ Rochester, New York ~
Cameron Community Ministries is an urban outreach community center in Rochester, N.Y.’s Lyell-Otis neighborhood. In addition to after-school and summer programs for youth, Cameron offers a variety of programs for all ages, including a free hot lunch daily, an emergency food pantry and a clothing house that also provides housewares. Many of the neighborhood’s youth are considered at-risk for crime, violence, pregnancy, substance abuse and poor academic performance, including dropping out. Cameron’s youth program offers a safe, positive place for youth to stay after school and to obtain the tools necessary for a bright future. Cameron has been a perfect fit for Jennifer Muniga, executive Director, to help families in need. Before joining the staff at Cameron, Muniga taught preschool and worked in Child Protective Services. “Helping underprivileged youth and their families is my passion,” she says.
