We would like to get to know you better, please take a moment to fill it out and place it in the offering plate. You are invited to bring your children to the nursery during the service for a safe and Christian environment so that you may more fully experience worship. For your convenience hearing devices are available. Please see an usher for assistance Banana Cream Pie Thought for Today: Out of the mouths of babes … hast thou ordained strength … that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. - Psalm 8:2 I dragged myself out of the house and followed my husband to the car and then into the restaurant, where I plopped myself down in a booth. It was one of those “woe is me” mornings. Just then the voice of a young child from somewhere behind me piped up, “Everybody raise your hand that loves banana cream pie!” Goodbye “doldrums!” Never mind the syntax - that little guy restored my joy. He also taught me a lesson: One cheerful person can brighten an entire room. Maybe that’s something each of us can work on today. What better way to show we’re becoming the persons that our loving God empowers us to be? Banana cream pie? I’ll take one humongous slab – and I’ll share it with you.
Prayer: Dear God, give us the abandon of children when it comes to spreading joy. Amen.
