ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING -Thursday, Feb. 4, 7 pm
At our annual meeting, Pastor John announced he will retire at the end of June. The congregation voted to accept his resignation with regret.
At the next Advisory Council meeting on Thursday, Feb. 4, members of a search committee will be nominated.
The church constitution requires that a 7 member search committee be appointed within 30 days. The search committee shall consist of a representative from each of the following: Diaconate, Christian Education, Missions, and Trustees. Also, the Advisory Council shall nominate 3 at large members one not older than age 18. Once nominations are made by the Advisory Council, the Diaconate will call a congregational meeting to formally appoint the committee.
I am asking each board to report its nominee to the Advisory Council on Feb. 4, and asking Advisory Council members to be prepared to nominate the at large members.
If you would like to be considered, please contact Vice Moderator Nancy Marion or Church Clerk Cheryl Stewart prior to Feb. 4. ~ Jack Clancy, Moderator
Memorial Bulletin Campaign
We wish to thank you for a successful 2009 Memorial Bulletin Campaign! In our first year every Sunday was adopted in memory or in honor of a loved one. Dates are open for 2010. Forms are available on the table in the foyer and in each months newsletter. They may be returned to the church office with your $10 donation.
Help in the Nursery
Ethel Clancy is looking for volunteers in the nursery to help care for the children. If we have many different people then no one person is always missing service. Call Ethel at 536-6265.
Save the Date! Next Sunday, February 7
For a bridal shower for Beth DeLooza Travis! This will also be a bit of a “Going Away Party” as Beth will be joining her husband at Fort Campbell, Kentucky later in February. Beth is registered at: Macy's, Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Pampered Chef and JC Penney. Please join us!!
Just a reminder that Tuesday is our picture day. Double check the time of your appointments. If anyone has any snapshots of church ativities that have taken place you may submit them for consideration for the activity pages. Be sure to put you name on the back side so we can return them to you. All pictures should be dropped off to the church office or to Nancy Marion by Friday, February 12.
Thank You from John
Thank you to all of you who made my birthday a fun experience. For the cards, candy and gifts I thank you.
Dear Friends: In light of the possible deficit in the Bd. of Missions budget, we are trying to economize where we can. One item you can help us with is the SECRET PLACE. We spent $115 last year and took in $27. In order to continue to supply the SECRET PLACE, we need to know HOW MANY regular issues and HOW MANY large print issues are needed. Please complete the attached form and return to a member of the Bd. Of Missions or to the Church Office. A contribution to offset the cost is greatly appreciated. - Your Bd. Of Missions
would like a regular/large print (circle one) SECRET PLACE.

Observations on Growing Older...
~ You use more 4 letter words... “What?” “When?”
~ What used to be freckles are now liver spots.
~ Everybody whispers.
~ You don't have hair under your arms and very little on your legs
but your chin needs to be plucked daily.
