Men’s Group - Saturday, January 31
On Saturday, January 31st, the FBC Men’s Group will meet at 8 am for devotions, a light breakfast and then to complete the work begun on the chair project. We hope to see many of you men (of all ages) there.

Revisions to the Annual Report
During the Annual Meeting a number of changes were made in the financial and budget reports appearing in the Annual Report. As a result, a correction sheet will be produced that will show all of the changes made during the meeting. This will enable you to revise your copy of the annual report if you would like to. I hope to provide this statement in the next week or two.

Thank You
To those who stayed last Sunday after service to attend the Annual Meeting and luncheon. The meeting was productive and the meal nourishing to both body and spirit.
We also thank everyone who is serving on a Church Board. Thank you for your service and your contribution!

2015 Offering Envelopes
Your 2015 envelopes are available at the back table. The estimated cost per box is $5. Whatever amount you can put into the “initial offering” envelope will be appreciated to help offset that cost. If you need a statement of giving for 2014 tax purposes, see Diane DeLooza.

Congratulations
A warm heart-felt congratulations goes out to Aaron and Ella Vaughn as they welcome Elmer into their family!

Church World Service
During the month of January, we will again be collecting items to create hygiene kits to send to Church world Service. Items can be brought to the church and placed in the box on the front pew in the sanctuary. Any items you can contribute will be appreciated. You do not need to provide an entire kit. Each complete kit will include the following:
One hand towel measuring about 16” x 28”
One washcloth
One wide-tooth comb
One nail clipper
One bath sized bar of soap (in wrapper)
One toothbrush (in original sealed wrapper)
Six standard size band-aids

Our Church's Mission

Mission Nugget
Mission Around the World – Southern Baja, Mexico

Mercy Gonzalez-Barnes has been working with the Dios con Nosotros (God With Us} Baptist Convention in Baja California, Mexico since 2002. Her ministry in Baja includes leadership development for new church planting, teaching at the Seminary, and work with short term mission groups from the United States. Her ministry area includes Mexicali, Tecate, Ensenada, San Luis and Tijuana. New church planting can mean many things; for Mercy it has meant breaking down the old wineskins and discovering new ones. It has taken her down the road of dialogue about the value of tradition and innovation. Mercy is part of the faculty of the Dios con Nosotros Seminary, located in Mexicali, and associated with the Dios con Nosotros Convention. She teaches courses on church planting, history and organization (from a Latin American perspective) as well as pastoral ministry and discipleship. As intentional bridges between American Baptist churches in the U.S. and the Baptist of Baja California, Mercy also helps shepherd short-term mission teams and facilitate continuing education for church leaders, adapting materials where appropriate.
Languages used in ministry: Spanish and English.

Mission Budget Report
Thank you for your Mission contributions of $142 on January 18th and for adopting our new budget. To meet the new budget we need to receive about $312 per week. For this month that means another $205 today.
